“Yay, tomorrow will be Halloween!” Lillian said. There was a foggy evening and I was staying at the window. I was going to wear a witch costume. I have to say that I felt nervous and a little bit scared as the sun was going down. It was the eve of Halloween…
Opposite my house it was my neighbor, the old crabbed Nebbercracker. He was a 60-yeared man who lived alone.
“Ok, my dear girls! We’re going to leave the town for this weekend. You have all the food you need in the fridge! The telephone numbers are on the cupboard and your babysitter will come later. Bye, I love you!” my mom said then she gave us a goodbye kiss.
“Angie, let’s go play in the living room” Lillian said. I refused her then I went upstairs. I knew something strange was happening in Nebbercracker’s house. But when I saw that a dog who was sitting on his lawn was practically sinking in it I knew I have to do something.
I went out and rang Katy’s door who was my best friend. I told her all the story while walking to Tim’s house.
“Are you crazy? Look, I am going to ring that old man’s door to see that there’s nothing happening in his house.” Tim said then he rang. “See? Nothing!”
But he couldn’t say anything more because it seemed like the house seemed like it woke up and he run as fast as he could. He was frightened, but he said: “That house is malefic. I believe you, Angela! We must do something.”
In the afternoon I talked with my friends about what we saw while Lillian was riding her bike outside. Kate was starring at Nebbercracker’s house, but Tim and I were arguing.
